Thailand Retreat: Love Explosion

19 Apr

I am overwhelmed…

I’m sitting in a cafe in Berkeley, California, thinking about the retreat we’ve just finished at The Sanctuary in Thailand.

The Sanctuary Beach
This group of humans blew me away with their willingness to dive deeply into the process, their love of dancing and their huge hearts.

This retreat taught me how much I need to trust myself: that when I follow my heart and my intuition, amazing things can happen.

I’m in tears reading the feedback forms:

Megan is such an inspiration. I love the way she teaches! She makes of yoga something modern because she’s gentle and warm but also so much fun! She really has a truly magical presence. I’m so grateful for having been able to join the retreat and just amazed how seven days can change the way you see/feel things for much more time!
Shiny Happy Healthy is now my own mantra!
I feel so thankful for Megan for sharing her happiness, her life lessons, and shininess!
Merci!

Thank you to beautiful and shiny Megan for lighting up the way to an amazing new purchase on life. Words really cannot express how grateful I am to you for sharing your knowledge, spirit and intelligence with us. Your retreat is, without a doubt, one of the best things a person could give themselves. I cannot speak more highly of you and the Shiny Happy Healthy retreat experience; nor can I speak more highly of the amazing souls I shared my journey with.

With lots of love,
– Jenny, Melbourne

You can read more testimonials about the retreat and my workshops on the Praise page.

How To Find Cheap Flights to the Bay of Love

31 Oct

An oldie but a goodie…And it all still applies!
I’ll be posting information about ferries and trains soon, too…

Shiny, Happy, Healthy.

A few years ago, when I first started jetting around all the time, a frequent flyer friend of mine taught me a few little tricks to save on airfares. This can sometimes take longer than flying directly to where you want to go, but for me, it has been a great way to see more places on my transits and I’ve saved thousands of dollars in the process.

You want to find the cheapest way to get to the other continent and then use local carriers to get around within that continent.

Using Melbourne to Koh Samui for the retreat as the example, here’s how I do it: I use a flight search engine like Adioso.com, Kayak.com or Skyscanner.com to check first how much it costs to fly directly.
Right now, Malaysia Airlines have flights from Melbourne for around $690 to Koh Samui. Usually, flying directly to Samui will cost at least…

New Workshops, New Retreat!

17 May

I honestly didn’t think I was going to be able to make it to Melbourne this visit to Australia…

But life has a funny way of working out!

I’ve just announced a delicious weekend program for June 1st and 2nd at the truly gorgeous Gertrude Street Yoga studio in Fitzroy.

stay shiny

I adore this space and had a blast teaching a morning intensive series here last year.

You can find all the details on the Workshops page – we’ve designed it as a choose your own adventure weekend, but I recommend you surrender two days to me and come to EVERYTHING. You’ll feel shiny, juicy and delicious with a new sense of purpose by the end of it all!

I also didn’t think I’d be running another retreat this year, but everyone has been asking for it, so WHY NOT?!

We’ve just locked in a week at a gorgeous space in Ubud, Bali, starting the last week of August.

I’ll be announcing all the delicious details for that here very soon, but in the meantime, here’s a little sample of the gorgeous time we had on the Thai retreat earlier this year on the Bay of Love…

Something to Whet Your Appetite…

I’m in Guatemala right now, learning about some amazing meditation techniques that I’m so excited to bring to the next retreat!

With that in mind, here are a few delicious pictures of The Bay of Love to get you all excited about the 24th of February.

How To Find Cheap Flights to the Bay of Love

23 Nov

Usually, flying directly to Samui will cost at least $1000 from Melbourne, so this is a fairly reasonably priced flight for those of you wanting to fly straight there!

But if you’re prepared to break the flight up into little legs, you can fly to Kuala Lumpur with Air Asia X from Melbourne for around $380, then grab a flight to Koh Samui for around $60 – $120 with Firefly from Subang Airport.

Alternatively, Jetstar has some ridiculously cheap flights from Melbourne to Bangkok right now – $360!

Then you can grab a Bangkok Airways flight for around $100 – $150 to Samui. Thai Airways also often has promotions from Bangkok to Samui from as low as $50.

If you want to save even more, you can fly with Air Asia or Thailand’s Nok Air from Bangkok to Surat Thani for around $30. You then catch a ferry over to Koh Pha Ngan from the mainland.

Personally, I use the stopovers as opportunities to see friends or explore the stopover – You may need to stay a night in Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok to make it work. I can give you loads of recommendations for places to stay and things to see in both cities.

Those of you coming from Europe or the US, use the hubs like Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Bangkok as your entry point. It will save you loads of money!!!

Happy to answer any questions!

Planning Lovely Things…

20 Sep

2012 has been a busy, challenging and wonderful year so far!

I began the year in Thailand, on Koh Pha Ngan teaching yoga and going deeply into tantra practice and breath work. The Sanctuary hosted a raft of amazing teachers this season and I was so lucky to be able to work with some truly inspiring yogis and practitioners.

From the island, I spent time in Bangkok and Hong Kong, in culture shock after my quiet months on the bay. Where every morning, I would wake up to this:

View from my balcony.

And this:

After managing to organise a visa, I spent the next few months teaching and exploring China…

Learning about Australia

Look what I drew!

Then it was back on the road, travelling through Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia to arrive on Bali just in time to teach a delicious High Vibe Retreat at Michael Franti’s glorious Soul Shine Villa.

Surrendering to sunset

Heaven in a wildflower…

Soulshine’s beautiful pool

Now I am back in Australia for a couple of months, organising the next moves!

I’ve just booked in a bunch of workshops and intensives in Melbourne in mid October – make sure you check out the Workshops/Retreats page for all the details – and am gearing up for the NEXT High Vibe Retreat in Bali at the end of October.

You can read more about all the magic that goes into that by visiting highvibeyoga.com.

It’s a really exciting time!
